What? Vote NO to Question 1 in the no confidence referendum
Why? Read the case for No Confidence
When? Right now! Or at least before 2pm 26 Jan
Where? elections.uclu.org
UCLU is holding an online referendum at elections.uclu.org on the question “Does UCLU have confidence in Malcolm Grant as President and Provost of UCL?”. Every UCL student – undergrad or postgrad – who has not opted out of union membership has the right to vote. We are campaigning for a NO vote – Malcolm Grant’s record as Provost and his participation in the government’s privatisation of the NHS mean he has no place in our university. To find out more about the case against him, click here.
UCLU is also holding debates on the referendum question on 16, 18 and 23 January at 1pm in the Darwin Lecture Theatre. These meetings are open to all students to come and take part in discussion.
UCLU previously held an Emergency Members’ Meeting on 1 Dec 2011 to discuss this question. Students voted by an overwhelming majority that we had NO CONFIDENCE in Grant. However, because the venue size was limited and some students couldn’t get in to vote, a referendum was called to resolve the question finally. The referendum closes on THURSDAY 26TH JANUARY AT 2PM.
